What each asset status means and when to use it.
Every asset in IT Trackr has a status. Statuses help you understand at a glance what's available, what's out with someone, and what needs attention.
The asset is in stock and ready to be assigned. It's not currently with any employee.
The asset is assigned to an employee and currently in use. When you check out an asset, its status automatically changes to Deployed.
The asset is temporarily out of service — being repaired, serviced, or awaiting parts. It won't appear in the available pool.
The asset has reached end of life and is no longer in use. Keeping retired assets in the system preserves your audit history and spend records.
The asset has been reported lost or stolen. It's removed from the active inventory but kept in the system for insurance and audit purposes.
Statuses update automatically when you use the Check Out / Check In flow. You can also change a status manually by editing the asset directly.
